About

ABOUT US:
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to safeguard and defend all Americans’ civil liberties and constitutional rights. The ACLU, one of the most well-known civil rights groups in the nation, was founded in 1920 and has a long and proud history of fighting for justice and equality. The ACLU is a strong advocate for social justice and civil freedoms with more than 1.8 million members and supporters nationwide.

WHY WE DO THIS:

The ACLU upholds the principle that all Americans, regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or any other trait, are entitled to the same fundamental liberties and rights. Unfortunately, government practices, laws, and policies that are unconstitutional and undermine the values of justice and equality frequently put these rights in jeopardy. We carry out this activity to guarantee the preservation of fundamental rights and to advance a more just and equal society for all.

VISION:

Our goal is to create a society where everyone is treated with respect and dignity and has equal access to the rights and opportunities that make up our democracy. In order to realize this goal, we think that civil freedoms and constitutional rights must be upheld, and we will stop at nothing to do so.

MISSION:

Through legal advocacy, public outreach, and grassroots mobilization, it is our purpose to defend and uphold the civil freedoms and constitutional rights of every American. We are dedicated to eradicating injustice, advancing equality, and making sure that everyone’s voice is heard and appreciated. We firmly think that we can contribute to the development of a more equitable and just society for all people thanks to our profound commitment to social justice and our unshakable commitment to upholding civil freedoms.
